LOADED DRAFT ON A DRY BULK FIXTURE
In detail
A fixture is a long-lived commercial position taken on incomplete information. The pre-fixture work — searching and screening the market, assessing whether a vessel genuinely suits the intended trade, and negotiating charter party terms that allocate risk sensibly — determines how much room there is to manage the relationship afterwards. Time charter, voyage charter and bareboat structures each distribute cost and control differently, and the wrong structure for the trade cannot be recovered through good operations.
Post-fixture is where most value is won or lost. We handle on-hire and off-hire condition surveys, bunker procurement and quantity survey, hire statement and freight reconciliation, laytime calculation and demurrage, off-hire and performance claims, and redelivery inspection and final settlement. Acting for owners or charterers, the approach is the same: document the position as it arises rather than reconstruct it under dispute.
